Shanghai, China, January 6, 2018 – The K11 Art Mall in Xintiandi will be home to the newest, most upscale addition to the Al’s Diner brand: Al’s Place, opening Saturday, January 6, 2018.
The new concept focuses on communal dining by restyling the most celebrated dishes from Al’s Diner into contemporary tapas bites. Rediscover classics like the Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes (25RMB), or pair it with all-new bites like the Salmon Mousse Spread (38RMB), using our house-made salmon; Teriyaki Glazed Beef Skewers (45RMB), threaded with leeks and garnished with cucumber daikon salad; and Miso Pork Belly Sliders (22RMB) with crispy, crackling slabs of pork.
Tapas aside, Al’s Place will feature these signature dishes:
- Roast Chicken: Al’s Place uses only free-range chicken seasoned in our smoky herb marinade. Make it a full meal with select sides, such as Hearth Roasted Mushrooms, Confit Fingerling Potatoes, or Mac ‘n Cheese.
- Salmon & Tuna Poke Bowl: Fresh-seared bites of salmon and tuna are tossed in teriyaki glaze and served on top of a bed of fluffy rice with pickled vegetables for a light, refreshing meal.
- Popcorn Chicken & Waffle: Topped with candied bacon bites, our twist on the traditional Southern dish comes with Bourbon-Infused Al’s Syrup.
Complement the food with any one of Al’s Place’s innovative line of cocktails, developed exclusively by Yao Lu. The Mexican salsa and chipotle enlivens the Below the Belt Bloody Mary (58RMB), while the Shanghai Maid (68RMB) is a China-inspired libation that balances elderflower with the sharper edge of vodka.
Vintage flavors of Gracie’s Ice Cream will rotate through the menu, along with select cakes from Al’s Baking Co.
